Latest Press Release: A candid advice to Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, the newly elected Prime Minster of Pakistan from the Ameer of Tanzeem-e-Islami Dated: 14 June 2013

The Modus Operandi for making Pakistan a model authentic Islamic Welfare State of the Twenty-first Century
(Hafiz Akif Saeed)

‘In order to achieve recompense in this world and in the Hereafter, a complete abolition of the riba-based economy embedded in the country and riddling it in into multiple monetary, fiscal and imminent liability crises in its national and international transactions must seize immediate priority of the newly elected government.’ This was stated by Ameer of Tanzeem-e-Islami, Hafiz Akif Saeed, at Qur’an Academy Lahore during the Friday Sermon. It is reported that the messenger of Allah (SAAW) said that religion comprises unbiased and expedient advice to the rulers of a state and it is with this dedication that Tanzeem-e-Islami has consistently been reiterating its stance that Pakistan and Islam go like hand in glove. Using this platform we demand the newly elected Prime Minister and his cabinet to take bold steps for paving the way to a model based on the system of Social-Justice of Islam, as envisioned by Iqbal and created by Jinnah in 1947. Losing sight of this rationale of the creation of Pakistan for over six decades has not only put serious question marks on the raison d’etere of our existence as a sovereign nation but pitched the masses in an inferno, the only way out of which is by installing a Islamic State based on the just principles of Social-Justice, the Ameer commented. The Ameer noted that a soft revolution could be introduced in the country by prudently implementing certain constitutional amendments. As a starter, he pointed that the government ought to break the ‘handcuffs’ and ‘shackles’ of the Federal Shariah Court. The honorable Judges of the Federal Shariah Court, apart from being bestowed the status of the Judges of the Supreme Court, should also be provided the constitutional provision to strike down any law repugnant to the Qur’an and the Sunnah. Furthermore, the reports of the Islamic Ideology Council must be deliberated in the upper and lower house of the parliament along with the provincial assemblies.

Commenting on the media reports of the 2013-14 budget, the Ameer noted that it appeared like the work of the imperialists and protected none but the haves of the country.  The brunt of the imposition of regressive taxes such as the GST would be borne merely by the already poor, destitute and the ‘middle-class’, decreasing by geometrical proportions. Ironically, PMLN has backtracked on its vows to increase the wage of the salaried class to Rs. 15,000, which, in retrospect, proves to be another of its many election slogans. The Ameer said that Allah’s (SWT) grace and benevolence never graces such rulers who do not protect the lives, properties and honor of its masses. The Ameer concluded that Allah’s (SWT) has given another chance to the newly elected Prime Minister to serve the nation and defer Allah’s (SWT) wrath, which befalls those who, when provided the opportunity to rule over the masses, act conceitedly and arrogantly stamp their populace as desired.
